Is Vantage Safe?

Vantage operates through multiple regulated legal entities across different jurisdictions. Depending on your country of residence, your trading account may be opened under one of the following regulators:

  • Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) – United Kingdom*
  • Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) – Australia
  • Financial Sector Conduct Authority (FSCA) – South Africa
  • Financial Services Commission (FSC) – Mauritius
  • Vanuatu Financial Services Commission (VFSC) – Vanuatu

See our Regulatory Tier to learn how FX Trading Today categorises regulators and applies them in broker reviews.

These regulators require Vantage to comply with rules covering client money segregation, financial reporting, and regulatory supervision. These requirements help reduce certain broker-related risks, although the level of protection depends on the legal entity that holds your account.

Opening an account with Vantage does not automatically place you under its highest-tier regulator. The legal entity assigned to your account depends on your country of residence and Vantage’s regulatory structure. As a result, regulatory oversight, client protection, and available safeguards can vary between jurisdictions.

Risk Reminder

It is also important to understand that regulation does not eliminate trading risk. CFDs are leveraged products and carry a high level of risk. Market volatility and leverage can lead to rapid losses. While regulation helps reduce risks related to the broker itself, it does not protect traders from losses resulting from their trading decisions.

How Much Does It Cost to Trade on Vantage?

Trading costs on Vantage depend on the account type you choose. The main trading costs include spreads, commissions, and administration fees that apply to eligible swap-free accounts when positions are held overnight.

Account Type Min Deposit Spread (EUR/USD)* Commission (EUR/USD) Suitable For
Standard STP $50 From 1.3 pips $0 Beginners and traders who prefer commission-free pricing.

Spreads are variable and may widen during periods of high volatility or low liquidity, including major news releases, market open and close periods, rollover, and public holidays. Traders using market orders may also receive wider spreads because orders are executed at the best available market price.

Leverage

Vantage sets the default leverage at 1:500 when you create a live trading account. After your account is opened, you can change the leverage through the Client Portal or Vantage App to one of several fixed levels, including 1:100, 1:200, 1:300, 1:400, 1:500, 1:1000, and up to 1:2000. The maximum leverage available also depends on the trading instrument, and some regulated Vantage entities may apply lower leverage limits to comply with local regulatory requirements.

Important

When using 1:2000 leverage, your account equity must not exceed USD 30,000. If your account equity rises above USD 30,000, the maximum available leverage is automatically reduced to 1:1000. If equity exceeds USD 100,000, the maximum leverage is further reduced to 1:500. These adjustments are applied automatically by Vantage as part of its equity-based leverage management.

Higher leverage reduces the margin required to open positions but also increases both potential profits and potential losses. Although Vantage allows leverage of up to 1:2000 on eligible accounts, using higher leverage significantly increases trading risk and should only be considered alongside appropriate risk management.

Step 4 — Complete Identity Verification (KYC)

Before starting Identity Verification, Vantage asks you to enter your mobile phone number and basic personal information, including your country of residence.

Once completed, verify your identity by uploading a valid government-issued document, such as a national ID card or passport. Additional proof of address may be required, depending on your country or account type.

Step 5 — Secure Your Vantage Account

Verify the mobile phone number you provided during registration.

We also recommend enabling two-factor authentication (2FA) before making your first deposit to improve account security.

Step 6 — Make Your First Deposit

How to Deposit Funds on Vantage

This section explains the general deposit process. Detailed information about local payment methods, processing times, fees, and our verified testing results is available in our dedicated country reviews.

Step 1 — Sign in to Your Vantage

Log in to your Vantage Personal Area and select Fund from the main menu.

Step 2 — Select the Trading Account

Choose the trading account that you want to fund.

If you have not created a trading account yet, create at least one trading account before making your first deposit.

Step 4 — Enter the Deposit Amount

Enter the amount you want to deposit.

The minimum deposit depends on the account type and the payment method you choose.

Step 4 — Select a Deposit Method

Choose your preferred payment method.

For most users, Vantage displays Local Bank Transfer as the default option because it is usually the most convenient local payment method. Other available options may include cryptocurrencies, e-wallets, and credit or debit cards.

Available payment methods and minimum deposit requirements vary by country and payment provider.

Step 5 — Complete the Payment

Follow the instructions provided by your selected payment method to complete the transaction.

If you are using a QR code payment, note that each QR code is generated for a single transaction only. After a payment is completed successfully, the QR code expires and cannot be used again. Every new deposit creates a new payment request and a new QR code.

Step 6 — Wait for the Deposit to Be Processed

After your payment is completed successfully, Vantage processes the deposit automatically.

During our testing with the Local Bank Transfer payment method, funds were credited to the trading account in approximately one minute. Actual processing times may vary depending on the payment method, payment provider, bank, and country.

Although Vantage’s official documentation states that the standard minimum deposit is USD 50, our testing found that users in some countries were able to make their first deposit with as little as USD 10 or USD 20. The actual minimum deposit depends on the country, payment method, and payment provider available for your account.

Note: Available payment methods, supported currencies, minimum deposit requirements, processing times, and fees vary by country. Refer to our country-specific Vantage reviews for verified local payment information and real testing results.

How to Withdraw Funds from Exness

The withdrawal process is similar to making a deposit.

In most cases, Vantage requires withdrawals to be made using the same payment method that was used for the original deposit. This policy is commonly known as the Return to Source (RTS) Policy. It helps comply with payment security requirements and anti-money laundering (AML) regulations.

Exceptions to the Return to Source Policy

If your original payment method is no longer available—for example, if your bank card has expired, been replaced, or is no longer active—Vantage may allow you to withdraw using an alternative payment method registered in your name.

In these cases, you may be required to provide additional verification documents, and the alternative withdrawal method must be approved by Vantage before the withdrawal can be processed.

Step 1 — Sign In to Your Vantage Personal Area

Log in to your Vantage Personal Area.

Select Fund from the main menu, then choose Withdraw.

Step 2 — Select the Trading Account

Choose the trading account that you want to withdraw funds from.

Step 3 — Enter the Withdrawal Amount

Enter the amount you want to withdraw from your trading account.

Step 4 — Select a Withdrawal Method

Choose the same payment method that you used for your original deposit.

For Local Bank Transfer, the receiving bank account must be registered under the same name used to complete your Vantage KYC verification.

If the original payment method is unavailable, refer to the Return to Source Policy described above.

Step 5 — Confirm the Withdrawal

Review the withdrawal details and submit your request.

Step 6 — Wait for the Withdrawal to Be Processed

After you submit the withdrawal request, Vantage begins processing the transaction.

During FX Trading Today’s testing using the Local Bank Transfer payment method, the funds arrived in our bank account approximately one minute after the withdrawal request was submitted successfully. Actual processing times may vary depending on the payment method, payment provider, country, bank, and whether additional verification is required.

Note: Available withdrawal methods, supported currencies, processing times, minimum withdrawal amounts, and fees vary by country. In most cases, withdrawals must be made using the same payment method used for the original deposit under Vantage’s Return to Source Policy. Refer to our country-specific Vantage reviews for verified testing results and detailed local payment information.

What Should I Do After Opening an Vantage Account?

Opening a Vantage account is only the first step. Before depositing a larger amount, secure your account, complete identity verification, and test both the trading platform and payment process with a small amount of capital.

1. Complete Your Identity Verification

Complete the identity verification (KYC) process as soon as possible.

Vantage requires identity verification before you can access all account features, including deposits and withdrawals in many jurisdictions. Completing KYC early can help prevent delays when funding your account or requesting your first withdrawal.

2. Secure Your Account

Verify your mobile phone number and enable two-factor authentication (2FA).

Adding an extra layer of security helps protect your account from unauthorized access.

3. Make a Small Initial Deposit

Start with the lowest deposit amount available for your country and preferred payment method.

Although Vantage’s official documentation lists USD 50 as the standard minimum deposit, our testing found that some countries allow first-time deposits from USD 10 or USD 20, depending on the available local payment provider.

Vantage officially lists USD 50 as the standard minimum deposit. In practice, the actual minimum deposit depends on your country, account type, and available payment methods. During our testing, we were able to deposit as little as USD 10 or USD 20 in some countries through local payment providers.

A small deposit lets you verify that your payment method works correctly before transferring a larger amount.

4. Place Your First Trade

Open a small position using the minimum trade size available for your chosen instrument.

This allows you to become familiar with order placement, position management, and platform features before increasing your trading volume.

5. Test the Withdrawal Process

After completing a few trades, submit a small withdrawal request.

Testing a withdrawal early allows you to confirm the payment process, processing time, and any verification requirements before depositing more capital.

During our testing, withdrawals made through Local Bank Transfer were completed in approximately one minute. Actual processing times may vary depending on the payment method, country, bank, and any additional verification required.

Remember that Vantage normally applies a Return to Source (RTS) Policy, meaning withdrawals are usually processed through the same payment method used for the original deposit.

6. Increase Your Trading Size Gradually

Only consider increasing your account balance after you are comfortable with the platform, understand how the payment process works, and have developed a consistent trading plan.

Vantage offers leverage of up to 1:2000 in eligible jurisdictions and for eligible accounts. Higher leverage increases both potential profits and potential losses. New traders should use leverage carefully and ensure it matches their trading experience and risk tolerance.

Risk Reminder

CFD trading involves leverage, which can magnify both profits and losses.

Only trade with capital that you are prepared to lose. Avoid increasing your position size until you understand how the platform works, how leverage affects your trades, and how you manage risk.

Review your trading results regularly and make adjustments based on your experience rather than short-term market movements.
